These are for you~Sorrel, this is such a gift from the heart~I was barely able to get through making these blocks without crying. I added in 2 fabrics from my stash and was able to complete 2 blocks. I’m including some strips with the blocks (as well as your leftover strips) in case you’d like to incorporate them in additional blocks. Hugs~
Although friends are moving into our apartment, so retrieving mail won’t be an issue, Matt and I are moving out of Vancouver at the end of this month. My new address will be: 1167 Cedar Grove Road, Roberts Creek BC, V0N 2W2
We are quickly coming to the end of our year of quilting. We have Nichole to sew for this July but no one for August. So, what does everyone want to do for the coming year? Do you want out of the bee? to go again?
Your stash is fabulous, Dorrie. This type of block requires precision, which is quite a challenge for me. Definitely good idea to outsource the work on a quilt like this! I can’t wait to see the finished product.
I love the story behind this quilt, and I’m glad that we could be a part of it. I couldn’t totally finish two blocks, probably due to my own poor planning. I thought I had enough purple to just add to that side. I may have messed it up, though I hope not.
I’m off to the post office!
This weekend I set out to catch up on my bee block backlog.
Circles for Angie. I opted for the machine applique method. Prior to this, I had never done any applique or circles. I suspect that they would have turned out a bit better had I been a seasoned veteran. Although, isn’t that the case with most things?
And the scrappy squares. I really love how this turned out! All of those little blocks are so pretty together!
And lastly, the wonky log cabin for Sorrel. Not too wonky though. I think it turned out pretty nicely.
Now it’s time to figure out what I’d like to have all of you do in July. Decisions, decisions.
I just realized today that the deadline for the ALS hopes and dreams quilt challenge is July 31. If those of you still working on my circle blocks would mind getting them to me this month, I think I can still make it in time. Thanks!
I have to apologize Sorrel. I have noticed (only by looking at the pictures just now) that one of the blocks i sent back to you is seriously screwed up. I guess that that is what I get for trying to sew while both my 7 and 4 year olds had friends spending the night. Having 2 friends spend the night while my husband was out of town was not one of the brightest ideas I have had… So, I am sorry. I do think that the other one came out pretty well though…
