April Circles

These fabrics have now been cut and will be mailed to you tomorrow.

For this month, I would like circles. For a bit of inspiration:
1. Detail of “Spot On” Circle Quilt, 2. Roundabout Quilt, 3. Circle Quilt WIP, 4. scrappy circles quilt, 5. Penumbra 1, 6. gelato circles 3, 7. Sew la tea block4, 8. my sister’s quilt, 9. Whirling Spirals Quilted Table Runner, 10. New York Beauty for Jen, 11. ready to quilt, 12. Roundabout Quilt Closeup

You can make circles/ half or quarter circles as simple or complicated as  you like.  Applique or pieced are both fine. If you have enough time/fabric(I think I went a bit overboard on fabric, so you should be good.) I would like two 12.5 inch blocks. I would also like a signature block (5.5 inch) from each of you for the back. For the signature block, any type of block that you wish, just include your name, permanent ink or stitched.

Here are a few tutorials  for circles, applique and pieced.

I’m sure there are more, this was just what I found after a quick search.

FYI, this is going to be a charity quilt. I will be donating the completed quilt to the Hopes and Dreams Quilt Challenge for ALS, sponsored by Quilter’s Dream Batting. Quilts are either given to an ALS patient or used to raise money for ALS research. My uncle was diagnosed with ALS 2 years ago. My brother in law was diagnosed last week with ALS. He is 31.  So, this project is very dear to my heart. Thank you for your help on this!

Am I forgetting anything? Oh, if you want to add fabrics from your stash, I don’t mind. I would like any of my scraps returned to finish up the quilt, though.

Circles! Terrifying and awesome. I’m doing circles (in part) for Adrienne’s block, so hopefully I’ll be well-practiced for April. (Adrienne, I hope to finish your block this weekend, sorry I’m late!)

I got my fabrics today. Such a lovely collection! I can’t wait to use them. We went cross-country skiing today. It was so lovely and fun, but I spent quite a bit of time while on the trail thinking about how to do tackle this circle project. Circles are still new to me, but I think I’ve got my plan. =)

I am so looking forward to making this block. It is really wonderful that it will be donated and I feel honored that you included us in this.

And Sorrelina, you went skiing today! I wore a tank top and was still kinda hot. I think we skipped Spring and went straight to August. =]

I’ve never done circles before. I’m excited to give it a whirl!
